Pastor Chris Dumont

Chris Dumont is the lead pastor of Gateway Church. Chris stepped into the role following the retirement of our longtime pastor, Charley, and continues Gateway's commitment to Christ-centered, Scripturally sound teaching and discipleship.

Pastor Emeritus: Charley

Charley served as pastor of Gateway Church from 1981 until his retirement — more than four decades of faithful ministry. His training for leadership occurred not in seminary but at the Air Force Academy, and after 8 years in the Air Force he left the service to enter the ministry, first as a teacher in Gateway Christian School.

Charley's favorite life messages include “How To Hear God's Voice”, “The School of Humility”, “The One Necessary Thing”, “Sitting and Listening at His Feet”, “The Mystery Hidden From The Ages – Christ In You”, and “Something Worth Waiting For – The Spirit Upon”. His ministry reached far beyond San Antonio — from speaking on discipleship at the European Baptist Convention in Switzerland, to training hundreds of church leaders in Peru, to addressing a conference of over 2,000 church leaders in Uganda.
